Full description

The engine is running, and Agadir is still asleep. At 7 a.m., your driver-guide will meet you at your accommodation, and the road opens up toward the northeast. This excursion from Agadir to Marrakech covers approximately 250 km each way on the A7 highway, first following the Souss Plain and then heading up toward the Haouz Plain through the western foothills of the Atlas Mountains-a journey of 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic. Private tour, exclusively for you or your group.

The itinerary

The day is long (12 hours round trip from Agadir) but packed with activities. Once in Marrakech, you’ll have a local guide to visit the main sites, followed by 2 hours of free time in the medina and souks before returning in the mid-afternoon.

  • Pickup at your accommodation: Agadir around 7:00 AM, Taghazout around 7:30 AM

  • Drive on the A7 highway (~250 km, 3-3.5 hours) with a break at a rest stop

  • Arrival in Marrakech: visit to the Koutoubia Minaret (12th century, 77 m) and Jemaa el-Fna Square

  • Tour of the medina and traditional souks (spices, leather, textiles) with a local guide

  • 2 hours of free time in the medina - lunch break on your own around Jemaa el-Fna (not included)

  • Return via the A7 highway: arrival in Agadir around 9:00 PM, Taghazout around 9:30 PM

The landscapes and the road to Marrakech

The route passes through two distinct regions. First, the fertile, cultivated Souss Plain, with its argan orchards and vegetable fields stretching to the horizon. Then the terrain gradually rises toward the western foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and the Haouz Plain opens up before entering Marrakech. This is not just a transit route: it offers a taste of the varied landscapes of inland Morocco. For lovers of medinas and bazaars, arriving in the ochre-hued city after a day-long drive from Agadir to Marrakech is a particularly striking experience.

Who is it for?

The excursion is suitable for adults, couples, and family groups. A fast-paced itinerary (departure at 7 a.m., return at 9 p.m.): we recommend a minimum age of 8 for children so they can truly enjoy the day. The Marrakech medina is dense, cobblestone-paved, and not suitable for strollers or people with limited mobility. The group is private, with a maximum of 10 participants. Pickup is included from Agadir and Taghazout at no extra charge.

Tip from the team

Wear closed-toe shoes with flexible soles: the alleys of the medina are cobblestone and can be slippery. A hat and sunscreen are essential in summer, as Marrakech is significantly hotter than Agadir (up to 40°C in July-August). Bring 10 to 20 EUR in dirhams for lunch on your own around Jemaa el-Fna. Admission fees for optional monuments (notably the Bahia Palace) are paid on-site in dirhams. If you’d like to explore beyond Agadir, our half-day excursion to Paradise Valley offers a refreshing mountain retreat.

What's included

  • Pickup and drop-off at your accommodation (Agadir or Taghazout)
  • Transportation in a modern, air-conditioned minibus (5-10 people) or a modern 4x4 (1-4 people)
