Full description
Our tour of Taroudant and Tiout begins at dawn in Agadir; the 4x4 leaves the city and heads inland. The morning air still carries the scent of argan trees and the damp earth of the Souss plain. This marks the start of a private day trip that explores two distinct facets of southern Morocco: “Little Marrakech” and its palm oasis, less than two hours from Agadir.
The itinerary for the Taroudant-Tiout day trip
The route alternates between roads, medinas, and oases. Our driver-guide adjusts the pace to accommodate challenging sections and the group’s preferences. No rushing: we take time for photo stops, tea, and chatting with local families.
Early departure from your accommodation in Agadir or Taghazout (around 8 a.m.)
Drive to Taroudant via the Souss plain and argan groves to see goats in the trees (about 1.5 hours)

The Berber family in Tiout welcomes you into their home in the palm grove, as tradition dictates. The meal is prepared right before your eyes: seasonal tagine, couscous, garden vegetables, and mint tea. This is one of the highlights of our Taroudant and Tiout excursion, and what sets it apart from a standard tourist tour. The family speaks Berber and Arabic; the driver-guide translates into English.

Tip from the team
Bring a light scarf for Taroudant (it can be windy in the medina) and comfortable shoes for the walk through the oasis (uneven terrain, bridges over the wadi). Stay well-hydrated: the hinterland is hotter and drier than Agadir. A camera is useful at the palm grove and the adobe ramparts in the low afternoon sun.

Tiout est un village de la région du Souss-Massa, à 45 minutes de Taroudant, connu pour son oasis et sa kasbah. What to bring
- Prévoyez des chaussures fermées et des vêtements confortables pour la balade à Tiout (terrain non aménagé). Foulard léger recommandé à Taroudant contre la poussière et le vent en médina. Crème solaire et eau supplémentaire indispensables d'avril à octobre : la journée dure environ 10 heures et l'oasis est exposée en milieu de journée. L'excursion n'est pas accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Convient aux enfants dès 6 ans. En cas de pluie intense ou de route bloquée, l'itinéraire est adapté ou la date décalée sans frais.
