Agadir Sandal Workshop: Custom Leather Sandals with Redouane

This Agadir sandal-making workshop with Redouane begins with the warm scent of leather and shoemaker’s glue. On the workbench lie sheets of colored leather, sole molds, and tools for stamping and sewing. Over the course of four hours, you’ll design your own pair of sandals or flip-flops: shape, colors, size, and finish. At the end, you’ll leave with your pair, ready to wear right away.

How your sandal workshop unfolds

The workshop follows the steps of Redouane’s shoemaking craft. No demonstration: you take the measurements, choose the materials, and assemble your pair.

• Measuring your feet and choosing the style: sandal or clog
• Selecting the leather from the available colors and finishes
• Cutting the soles and straps to the dimensions of your feet
• Hand-sewing the straps to the sole, guided by Redouane
• Finishing touches: branding, polishing, and trying on your finished pair

Redouane and his leather craftsmanship

Redouane has been working with leather for 30 years in his workshop in the Kasbah Souss. He learned the trade from traditional shoemakers and regularly trains apprentices. His specialty remains custom-made sandals and clogs, in the tradition of Moroccan artisans who have been making shoes for locals for generations. Each pair is unique: even with an identical model, the final result varies depending on the hands that assembled it.

Who is this workshop for?

Tip from the team
