About this stay

Some journeys begin when you leave the airport, and others begin in the baggage queue. This one belongs to the second category. Your road companion meets you at the arrivals exit of Agadir Al Massira, around 10am-11am depending on your flight. No laminated sign, no group to join: a handshake, a coffee, and the road heads south. Three air-conditioned 4x4s, because this 700-kilometre loop over two days deserves real logistics - not an 18-seat minibus where you watch the sea over your neighbour's shoulder. The first day descends along the coast. You drive along the Atlantic cliffs, stop at Aglou for a coffee facing the ocean, frame the rocks of Aftas before reaching Legzira for lunch. The famous red sandstone arches are just metres from the table - only one arch has stood since the 2016 collapse, but it is more than enough to justify the detour. The afternoon crosses Mirleft and Sidi Ifni, a former Spanish enclave with faded blue shutters and Art Deco villas weathered by the wind. An hour out of time before turning inland towards the desert. Arrival at El Borj happens at the end of the day, when the sun grazes the dunes. The Berber camp is set between two sand ridges, far from any artificial light. Sandboarding down the highest slope, a blazing sunset, traditional dinner over a wood fire, evening under a sky free of light pollution where the Milky Way can be read with the naked eye. The night in a Berber tent warmed by wool blankets is the experience you try to recreate in photos for the rest of your life. The next day starts slowly: a Berber breakfast facing the dunes, bread baked in a stone oven, argan oil, Souss honey. Then on to Guelmim, the gateway to the Sahara, which hosts one of Morocco's last great camel markets. A burning atmosphere, hushed negotiations, a genuine scene of nomadic trade that many visitors believe has long disappeared. The road then climbs back towards Tiznit, the silver city, whose ochre ramparts and hundred jeweller workshops are worth a few hours' stop. Lunch is served at a Berber family in the Petit Sahara, a long-time partner of the Immersi team: vegetable couscous, chicken tajine with olives, mint tea. Free time in the Petit Sahara dunes in the early afternoon, then return to Agadir at the end of the day. Drop-off at the airport or your hotel according to your schedule. This 2-day / 1-night format is designed to fit into a longer journey. It is particularly suited to groups arriving at the start of their stay and wanting to begin strong, or to those wanting to end their trip with a desert interlude before flying home. No particular physical condition required: the 4x4 handles most of the journey, walks remain short, and the pace adapts.

Your travel notebook

Day by day

  1. Your road companion meets you at the arrivals exit of Agadir Al Massira around 10am-11am depending on your flight. Luggage loaded into the 4x4s, short briefing, and the road heads straight south along the Atlantic coast.

First stop in Aglou, a small fishing village set in the rocks, for a coffee facing the ocean. Photo stop at Aftas Sidi Bouldlayel, where the red sandstone cliffs plunge into the water. Around 1pm, lunch at Legzira, table set just metres from the famous natural arches the sea has been sculpting for millennia - no lamb or mutton, adapted menus.

The afternoon crosses Mirleft, a former surfer's hamlet perched on the cliff, then Sidi Ifni, a former Spanish enclave with weathered Art Deco facades and faded blue shutters. An hour of timeless wandering before turning back inland.

Arrival around 6pm at El Borj camp, set between two dune ridges away from any artificial light. Sandboarding down the highest slope, blazing sunset over the sands, traditional dinner over a wood fire, Berber evening under a sky where the Milky Way reads with the naked eye.

Good to know

This journey covers approximately 700 kilometres over two days, with one main driving day (D1) and a more varied day (D2). The pace remains manageable - each stop allows for a real pause. Bring closed shoes for the cobblestones of Sidi Ifni and Tiznit, as well as for the dune sand. A windbreaker or light jacket is useful at the El Borj camp: desert nights can drop to 8-12°C depending on the season. Sunscreen is essential from April to October, hat or scarf against wind and dust. The best season runs from October to April (temperatures 18-25°C during the day, cool nights). In July-August, the desert can exceed 40°C: feasible but requires hydration and activities moved to early morning and late afternoon. Dietary regime: by default, our meals do not contain lamb, mutton, or goat (preferences observed in recent groups). All other diets (vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies) accommodated if you inform us at booking. Minimum 2 people to confirm departure. Degressive pricing from 4 people (290 €/pers) then 8 people (195 €/pers) for established groups. For privatisation requests beyond 15 people, contact us for a custom quote.
